Who we are

JSIC is the independent voice and umbrella organisation for all associations, businesses, inspectorates and other organisations with an interest in or responsibility for security whenever and wherever a security situation may arise.

JSIC helps coordinate representation from industry and other bodies for discussion with Government and other agencies on security matters, and in turn helps in the process of distributing information from these and other sources back to the member organisations.

We welcomed Bruce George, Member of Parliament for
Walsall South, Chair of the Defence Select Committee,
Patron and first Honorary Fellow, Institute of Security
Management and Honorary Parliamentary Adviser to the
Royal British Legion, to chair the day’s discussion and with
extensive insight and experience into the nature of national
security and the latest trends and threats. He was joined
by Adele Louise Carter of the British Computer Society.

 
     
  JSIC Counter-Terrorism Master Briefing
 
 

Top experts in the private security industry covered the latest counter terrorism strategy developments with an audience of senior security professionals at JSIC’s Master Briefing in London on 30 January 2007.

Experts led the discussion with a series of updates and a particular focus was placed on training methods which work to ensure the highest levels of expertise and awareness for hundreds of security professionals in metropolitan areas throughout the UK. There was further discussion on coordinated responses which combine the skills of a range of agencies, and the public. The morning offered a unique opportunity to gain insights and expertise for anyone working in private security.

The AGM was held on Thursday 19 October 2006, and was preceded by a very interesting presentation from guest speaker Keith Trobridge, who is responsible for overall security at Canary Wharf Estate. He spoke on the practicalities of making the 86 acres of Canary Wharf a secure but
